Room 7
Where the unknown follows.
The story
A woman trapped in a confined, increasingly unsettling space, caught between outside threats and her own paranoia.
As cryptic warnings and eerie phenomena build, Room 7 blurs the line between reality and illusion, asking whether we escape fear or let it consume us. It was shot entirely on a smartphone, with a gimbal, improvised rigs and tight spaces building the tension.
The film's standout moment, the protagonist pouring water over her face in the bathroom sequence, wasn't in the shot list. Tsakane and cinematographer Bohlale Sootho pitched it during filming to show the character's desperation to regain control.
“…thanks to Tsakane and Bohlale's sharp eye for detail and storytelling.” — Jaden Sauls, director“A superbly structured thriller full of tension, frenetic and unpredictable.”
